Compensation Analyst

The Compensation Analyst reports to the Sr. Manager, HR Services. The incumbent will be responsible for the day-to-day operations in the area of total rewards and will work closely with HRBPs, Talent Acquisition team members and managers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide credible, thoughtful and data-driven compensation advice to HR Partners.
• Support all key compensation execution efforts including annual increases, bonus, and variable pay programs and processes.
• Review job descriptions.
• Conduct job evaluations, to determine proper job grade levels; manage the process for existing and newly created positions and conduct job audits as appropriate.
• Maintain job codes and job profiles.
• Participate in compensation surveys. Conduct comparative market benchmark reviews, analyze market rates for similar jobs in comparable labour markets and recommend changes as appropriate to maintain desired market competitiveness and ensure internal equity.
• Complete ad-hoc projects, including researching and analyzing data, organizing the data into meaningful documentation and presentation material, drawing sound conclusions, and making appropriate recommendations.

Experience, Education and Designations:

• Post-secondary degree in Human Resources
• Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) preferred
• 5+ years progressive and demonstrated compensation/total rewards experience
• Executive compensation experience an asset

Knowledge, Skills and Attributes:

• Technologically adept and ability to work with multiple Microsoft Office applications (particularly, advanced skill in Excel) and HRIS (Workday experience an asset).
• Exceptional attention to detail and committed to a high degree of accuracy.
• Technical expertise in broad based compensation programs.
• Ability to think proactively, critically and independently to make good decisions; an inquisitive problem solver.
• Ability to work in a highly dynamic and fast paced environment with a high degree of change and ambiguity; able to work efficiently under pressure and prioritize.
• Excellent grammar, business letter and report writing skills.
• Ability to organize moderate amounts of business information and develop it into cohesive, professional reports and presentations.
• A clear and succinct communicator (verbal and written); excellent listening skills.
• Understand and maintain a high level of confidentiality.
• Embrace continuous improvement by proposing new and/or better ways of doing things.
