Our client is currently seeking a Senior Human Resources Generalist to be based in their manufacturing facility in Woodbridge

Core Responsibilities:

  • Be visible and available on the manufacturing floor; be the frontline to answer employee HR-related questions in a timely manner; promote positive employee relations
  • Investigate and address employee concerns, issues and grievances.
  • Maintain a continuous improvement mindset and work in conjunction with the managers to improve and streamline HR processes and programs; leverage best practices and generate new ideas that move the HR function forward.
  • Create professional internal communications to ensure employees and managers are apprised of changes, programs, milestones, etc. on an ongoing basis; ensure that communication meetings are held routinely and the content is aligned with the business.
  • Continually assess training needs; develop/coordinate training programs in conjunction with managers; track and report on training initiatives.
  • Work with hiring managers and lead the full-cycle recruitment process (including developing job descriptions and postings, conducting interviews), through to the offer and onboarding stage; track and report monthly.
  • Manage WSIB, STD and LTD claims and other programs to ensure timely return to work.

Education and Experience:

  • A minimum of 7 years of experience as a Human Resources Generalist.
  • A University Degree in Human Resources or Industrial Relations.
  • CHRP/CHRL designation or actively working towards the designation.
  • Experience with a unionized workforce in a manufacturing environment required.
  • JHSC certification an asset.
